Mark your calendars for the Oblong Children’s Christian Home’s Annual Youth Horse Show, tentatively scheduled for September 14th! It’s a wonderful showcase of equestrian skills, not just for our youth but also for talented young riders in the region. Beyond a competition, it’s a celebration of horsemanship and a spotlight on our transformative Horsemanship Therapy program. Join us for a day filled with skill, camaraderie, and the sheer joy of horses!

Don’t miss our annual Chicken and Noodle Dinner at the Palestine Park during Labor Day Weekend. . .those are some good eats!!  We’ll come to you (if you are sitting street side for the annual parade) to offer a cinnamon roll for breakfast, and then you can follow up with a good lunch at the park.  Everything is homemade by houseparents and kids!

The Children’s Home joins in the fun of the Oblong Fall Follies on the last Saturday of the month of October for the annual Spooktacular 5K. It is a brisk morning run/walk for all of the participants, but they come out in droves to enjoy the early 8:00 a.m. start. It is a great start to a great day in Oblong. We are proud to be a part!
